About us - Creating Original Works of Musical Theatre
We believe that musical theatre can carry impactful stories that move and provoke us unlike any other medium. As long-time students and performers of musical theatre, we set out to create new original works ourselves.
Since meeting in their Master's program at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Cassie and Tyler have been long-time friends and collaborators. During the pandemic Cassie and Tyler starting work on their first original musical, Little Weaver (previously God Catcher). Along with Prickly Pear Productions and significant support from the Canada Council for the Arts and Arts Council Malta, they co-produced a 9 actor, four week run of the show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2023. Further development of the show is slated for 2025. Petrichor Productions is passionate about new work, and seeks to find the right words for experiences we know by heart.
Their current project is How Not to Kill a Plant, which will debut at the Edmonton Fringe Festival from Augusst 15-25, 2024 with the Grindstone Theatre Society.
